Papelbon is on pace for 87.5.

And, you do realize now that Proctor sucks again the Yanks are a 2 man bullpen as well (and have been for years)?

Go away.

[/ QUOTE ]

No I won't go away. Some of you come into the Yankee threads and offer comments so I can do the same.

Dotel is due to come back in two weeks and Villone has been excellent this year. The Yankees have 3 guys right now that they can go to in Rivera, Farns, and Proctor- and Villone.

yeah, the 36 year old with a career 4.91 ERA is going to save the Yankee bullpen. But he's been good in 13 innings!

And Proctor, 29 years old with a career ERA over 5, was for real early in the year and is just going through a "slump." Must be nice living in your fantasy land.

you made posts last year talking about how the yankees were done and their pitching sucked. They used 14 pitchers and still beat the Sox out for the division, even being down 7.5 games at one point in early summer.

You really think that the Red Sox will win the division? I'm curious.

um, why wouldnt timlins 'replacement' be foulke, and his replacement be tavarez/riske....?

delcarmen will be the last guy out of the pen, but whatever. as usual, lets not let facts get in the way of dumb posts.

timlin has averaged .4 innings per game so far this season. his DL stint is 15 days which equates to about ~12 more games or 4.8 innings they have to 'replace'. im sure foulke and papelbon can split the huge 5 innings they need to pick up.

clearly the recipe for late inning struggles.

Sublime, please quit making thses predicitons. You're jinxing the shiit out of us.

Anyone surprised they didn't let Wake finish?

The Papelbon chants, and the huge reactions to every ball and strike, were funny.

Of course, if we lose that game, I probably don't find any of it funny.

Pirates did the same thing this afternoon, going from shut-out laugher to 9th-inning catastrophe. But they lost.

I do.

The Red Sox have a deeper rotation, a deeper bullpen, better defense particularly in the infield, a lineup that is almost as deep, and more quality in the minors to either augment the major league team directly or trade for something.

Oh, and a two game lead...and we just got our centerfielder back.

Hey new guy,

Stop acting like we Red Sox fans care about who wins the division. The Yankees won the division in '04, didn't they? Lately, that's all they've been able to win, so let's not spoil their sense of accomplishment.
