Then I added filters "Position OTB at most 3" "No. of Players Exactly 6" and they were winners. Same with "Position OTB at most 2" "No. of Players Exactly 5". So it looks like the blinds are causing this. [/ QUOTE ] congrats, you found out that you make money on hands you VPIP out of the blinds! groundbreaking! :P |

Pete: I think adjusting for whiffed sets or SCs is going to add more inaccuracy. Phil could have separate stats for "hit set" or "hit combo draw", but not factor them into equity adjusted winnings. This would tell you that your equity may be higher or lower than true expectation because you hit many/few sets. [/ QUOTE ] i disagree and i think your idea sucks. [ QUOTE ] I dont understand how a large sample is bad for accuracy. Was this meant only for the PP/SC argument? [/ QUOTE ] the errors accumulate over large amounts of hands. over the short term they are small compared to the deviation from the expected winrate. over the long term they are large compared to the deviation from the expected winrate. |

Re: Sklansky bucks calculator (php script)
I originally posted this in the bbv thread, but it's probably more useful here:
[ QUOTE ] Ok, look at this crap. I'm screwing around with the filters and more or less satsfied with what I'm seeing until this garbage comes up. In nearly all my filtered (and unfiltered) graphs, my bet bars are slightly to well below my equity bars, until I come across my suited broadways. These are looking like MASSIVE spewage. Could other, otherwise equitable players, post screenshots of their suited broadways to help me compare and see if this is a unique leak to me, or just common to the nature of the game. Thanks This is fugging hideous. [/ QUOTE ] |

Not a very big sample size there.

Not a very big sample size there. [/ QUOTE ] Oops. Here's one of my entire current d-base. Not as bad, but still gross: Edit: It actually now does look primarily like a sample size issue. Please disregard. Naturally my first reaction after graph 1 would be to run around screaming "The sky is falling!" without really interpreting it. |

Re: Sklansky bucks calculator (php script)
what is the maximum number of hands ppl have successfully imported. I keep getting an out of memory exception when trying to do over 40k hands. I have 2 gigs of ram and it hovers around 85% usage when running this program.
An error occured. The error message was: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown Ideas? |

Re: Sklansky bucks calculator (php script)
Dads,
I got about 55k hands to show up without erroring out on my laptop, and I have 2g RAM also. When I tried a 72k hand sample size it didn't like it though. |

Re: Sklansky bucks calculator (php script)
Kudos on this great piece of software. I've been playing around with this the last few days and am trying to find some leaks in my game.
I suspected I may have a problem with cold calling and this graph seems to illustrate that GREATLY. I try to only cold call in position with small to medium pairs and suited connectors. Am I correct that this is a MAJOR leak? Actually now that I'm typing this I realize that the filter is really showing any time I limped OR cold called. However, it still seems to show a major leak and really seems to illustrate the adage of "Raise or Fold". Thanks. |
