Ok, simply, these are team sports. When you have a superstar teammate, his play elevates your game.

They aren't really better players and they aren't playing better. They are just made to look better.

Numbers wise yes, but the talent level stays the same.

Say we had a 3 on 3 basketball game. You pick two of your buddies and I pick 2 of mine and we play. But then next week I substitiute my buddy that was playing point guard with Steve Nash.

I guarantee you, I would play a helluva lot better with Nash setting me up than my buddy.

you don't play better, nash will put you in better situations.

nash, jordan, bird, magics teamates played better because the other team is so focused on them. the teamates get put in situations where they have a great chance to succeed.

brady does the same thing. finding the most open reciever every time means that each reciever gets more catchable balls, in less traffic. them doing better just means they are put in better situations for them.

I think Rover is just saying that while they might look better while playing with Brady, they aren't actually better because if you took Brady away they would go back to looking like they did before playing with him.

I also think that while that might be true for the most part, the experience of playing with an elite level QB could be very beneficial for a young, inexperienced WR... I just think that they would have the opportunity to learn a lot of things from him...

In addition to what others said, it is unfair to compare basketball players to Tom Brady. At least all the positions in basketball are relatively similar and involve mostly the same skills where a Larry Bird could give tips and tricks to actually improve the talent of others. QB and WR, not so much.
