Soriano was unhittable when he closed during the stretch when Wick got hurt. Wick isn't horrible, just Soriano is better.

Yup, absolutely. When you let balls get hit in play, things like this happen. Helps to have scrappy hitters like the twins.

I wish we still had Gonzalez. God damn injuries every year to our pitchers.

Be thankful, Soriano winds up pitching in more important situations than Wickman due to his role in the 'pen.

Also, Go Twins!

Got to admit the Red Sox look damn good. No wonder they're blowing away the AL East.

The McBride/Ledezma trade seems like a wash.

From AJC.com:

"The Braves traded the left-handed reliever to Detroit for another lefty, Wilfredo Ledezma, who they frankly believed was better. And said so.

"Macay's still a young guy who certainly is capable of getting better," Atlanta general manager John Schuerholz said. "It's obvious by our actions we like Ledezma and his future better."

Ledezma, 26, was 3-1 with a 4.79 ERA in 23 appearances for the Tigers this season, and 15-18 with a 5.15 ERA in 106 games (33 starts) over five seasons."

Hope JS is right like he usually is.

This team is going stale pretty fast. Dump Smoltz to a contender by the trade deadline for some young pitching studs. Time to retool.

wickman will be fine for the rest of the year, that being said the braves have no chance at all to make the playoffs this year NONE, the mets r just on another level.

btw what happened to chuck james had so much promise even started the season ok his 1st 2 starts (i think) then has sucked balls ever since after having a good year last year. Some prodigy he has been for my fantasy team (not anymore dropped u)

Mets are on another level? Since when, both teams are horrible. You mets fans are mighty dilusional.
