ama, those of us of Scottish/Nordic extraction just want to know: where is the cold, biting wind, where is the slate gray sky, and where for God's sake are the SHEEP? How can you call a place home without COLD RAIN AND SHEEP?!?

The really amazing thing about those pictures is the fact that there is not a single soul in them. If there is any place in the entire U.S. where one could take such a picture (Hawaii excepted), I'd be surprised.

Wow. Just wow.

Living in London has taught me how lucky Australians are with regards to space. The amount of space per person even in Sydney, Australia's largest city, is astronomical. You can get on a train and be guaranteed standing room even in peak hour. There was uproar when the trains got so packed that *gasp* people had to touch shoulders! In London, you forfeit the right to personal space as soon as you get off the plane. Even the Sydney CBD is so spacious. Sure, its busy, but you don't know BUSY until you've been to London.

As far as the cold - in winter, 9 degrees centigrade is REALLY REALLY COLD. Go from there, hehe. Not uncommon to see 24 deg centigrade and full sunshine in the middle of winter.

More pics to come. Now, a poker related post...

I'm not a big fan of posting hands here. But this one was special for me. My biggest pot dragged, evah:

Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $219.70
UTG+1: $198.40

Pre-flop: (6 players) hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 raises to $4</font>, 2 folds, SB calls, hero calls.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($12, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $1</font>, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises to $15</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 raises to $50</font>, SB calls, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises all-in $179.8</font>, UTG+1 folds, SB calls.

Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($421.6, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $421.6)

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($421.6, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $421.6)

Results:
Final pot: $421.6
SB showed Ts Ks
hero showed 9c 9d

BTW: this villain played a 70/45/7 game, causing the whole table to tilt, which was quite hilarious.
You just never knew whether he had a hand or not. At peak times he had a $560 stack, and I just tried to catch that one big hand against him... He certainly made the #1 on my buddy list.
Oh, and he was still up about 1 buyin when I left...

Geebus, man -- learn to loosen up from the SB! You can outplay 'em postflop, and looking loose for 0.5 BBs is great for shania.
