I have an alienware desktop and I've never had a single problem with it.
Honestly it runs better than any computer I've ever had.

FYI.. Alienware is owned by Dell. Not pwnd, but literally, they bought the company. Happened months ago.

This is correct. The Dell XPS laptops are alienware laptops with a Dell logo on them.

Alienware computers are high-end computers, and most computers in general don't have problems. Some do. It is true that if you go buy a Dell or something, you won't have any problems with it, but there are usually better deals.

No, anyone who disagrees knows that they can get a similar/better computer for a good deal less. In other words, they know how to spend their money.
[ QUOTE ]
when u say "custom build," do you mean going to a site like ibuypower or do you mean buying separate parts like at newegg?

im about to spend $$ and not sure which is the better route.

[/ QUOTE ]
The only disadvantage to going with a site like ibuypower is they don't always have a selection as good as Newegg, but usually you can find what you need. By the way, http://www.pricewatch.com is the best place to find your computer needs. They have a very large database of computer sites that you can sort by price, with reviews for each site.

I've never owned or used their products, but all I seem to hear about them is negative.

Reef, my experience mirrors yours except that my computer never turned on. Link.

What is shocking is how common our stories are. Much more so than any other computer company that I can find. Alienware seems exceedingly bad at ensuring even rudimentary quality and timeliness.

anyone who thinks they need an Alienware, should know enough about computers to build one themselves and save a bunch of money. time shouldn't even be an issue, it takes only a few hours to get it up and running after you have all the parts.

also, intel core 2 duo > amd 64
