Re: ***The OFFICIAL Jags - Pats game thread***

am I the only one that didn't come away impressed with NE? [/ QUOTE ] Ben Watson dropped a ball on the 5, early in the game. this cost them somewhere between 3 and 7 points. then Branch dropped the touchdown at the end of the first half, costing them 7 more points. this game could have been a blowout a lot earlier. yes, the Pats had trouble moving the ball at times, but hey, give the Jags defense credit. that's a good unit. the Pats defense looked a little out of sorts when Jax moved to the 4 reciever sets, but they still came up with the plays when they needed to. bottom line, the Patriots did not play their best game, but were still much better than Jax. they will certainly not get away playing like this against any of the remaining AFC teams. |

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Jags - Pats game thread***
Ordway and the boys on the big show were predicting all week that the Patriots defense would shut down Jax without a TD and that they would probably just get 1 FG.
As I'm hearing this I'm thinking, no way, this team won 12 games, you're not going to hold them wihtout a TD. Dominating performance. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Umm... While Indy is the best team in the league, I wouldn't salivate over having to go to Denver coming off a bye week. I am not patient enough to wait 2 more weeks. [/ QUOTE ] While I don't think it makes a very large difference either way, I have absolutely zero desire to go into Denver, and would derive much more pleasure from the Pats beating the Colts in Indy and having a chance of avoiding going into Denver than the other way around. |

am I the only one that didn't come away impressed with NE? [/ QUOTE ] Week 1: Jaguars 26, Seahawks 14 Week 2: Colts 10, Jaguars 3 Week 4: Broncos 20, Jaguars 7 Week 5: Jaguars 23, Bengals 20 Week 6: Jaguars 23, Steelers 17 (overtime) Week 14: Colts 26, Jaguars 18 Wild Card: Patriots 28, Jaguars 3 The Jaguars had a soft schedule to end the season. But, they played half a dozen games against the best in the NFL and had a 3-3 record. The Patriots scored more against the Jaguars than any other team while giving up the fewest. Some posters are saying the Patriots didn't look that great. But, I think Pats fans should be optimistic about how this game went. |

Pats best path is to play Indy next week. Only a couple of places Brady doesn't play well and Mile High is one of them.

No wait, let me take that back, you're annoying. Good thing your selective stat doesn't count the time they didn't even make the playoffs, nor does it have anything to do with this year where the Pats have to win two straight road games to get to the Super Bowl. |

Re: ***The OFFICIAL Jags - Pats game thread***
They had a soft-schedule to end the season, and their defense melted to end the season, too. The Jags looked really bad this game, and it had nothing to do with the Pats because they looked bad against the the 49ers, the Rams, and the Texans, too.

[/ QUOTE ] Just guessing: Pats will be an 8 point dog at Indy, and maybe a 3 point dog at Denver. The lines aren't a true indication of a teams chance to win, but can be a good indication. There's probably a 20% chance that Pittsburgh could go into Indy and win. if the Pats beat Denver, the Pats would then not only avoid Indy, but also host the AFC championship. this would be gigantic, and even the 20% chance of this occuring is enough that you should be rooting for this to happen. |
