Sometimes when I watch an old rerun of the Simpsons, I'll watch the first 7 or 8 minutes, whatever it is before there would be a commercial break, and at first I'll think I haven't seen it before. But then by the middle, when it becomes clear what the episode is REALLY about, I'll remember that I have seen it before. The first 7 or 8 minutes are often totally unrelated to the main part of the ep.

ATF threads are usually like that. They start out being about something related to the title, but then about 10 or 15 posts in, they're about something totally different - avatar stealing, lolcats, someone getting banned for 47 seconds, or some such zaniness.

ATF rules. That is all.

I haven't seen an episode in a few years, but I figure in about 10 more years when my kids are teenagers I might finally have time to watch all of the boxed sets I'm accumulating...

After the show went downhill they even self parodied this in an episode, exploring funeral costs for Grampa only to end up an episode about tennis. Grampa then says something like "we went through all this to get a tennis court."

I miss the old Microbob that never replied with less than four paragraphs. The new and improved Microbob makes for much faster reading but somehow 2p2 just isn't the same without rambling 20 paragraph answers to a yes or no question.
