whatever you do just dont move way the [censored] up because you think its easier to play against better players. i prob see at least 1 low limit player every week or two put his/her BR on a table of 5/10 or 10/20 thinking people will be easier to read when the amount of money matters, when its pretty much the opposite.

It's not that I want to play higher stakes because it's easier, it's just that I don't want to see my kings lost all in preflop to 2/6o (just happened). I'll be moving up when my online stash allows me, and will probably never go past 2/5.

qft

If I could play $5NL caliber players at 200 a pop, I would be a rich man pretty quickly. To want better, thinking, players at your table is pretty retarded if making money is your goal. (think: 'the theory of poker')

That hand you posted (KK) should make you happy because you got it in so good. That's all you can do sometimes.

its all a state of mind

Yes, the reason people were "giving your a hard time" (they weren't, really) is that a lot of micro players seem to have this misconception that at some mystical buy-in level the bad beats stop and there are no more horrible players.

Firstly, if there were no more horrible players, I'd stop playing. I make an awful lot more money from bad players than I do from nitty TAGs. Nevermind the players who are actually better than me.

And if you really think the bad beats and coolers lessen, please disabuse yourself of that notion RIGHT NOW or you're going to be in for a very, very miserable poker career. The beats they keep on coming. Go read the monthly chat thread, you'll see many, many beats at levels far above yours.

People will still push their overpair against your set. And they'll still suck-out 10% of the time. They'll still bluff into your nuts only to runner runner a back door flush. In fact, as players get more aggressive you'll find yourself playing for stacks a lot more in situations where you don't have huge edges - When people play draws hard, for example. Situations where you're 55:45 or 60:40. When you're dealing with those kinds of relatively small edges, it's really easy to run very, very bad...

The bad beats still happen, but "horrible" players do in fact lessen a bit.
