You need to understand people's philosophy of playing, or maybe you don't, but it's something I do and so do a lot of other players. I just played with a woman who will ALWAYS check if she has the chance unless she has a wheel. She'll check the obviously better hand all the way to the river. It isn't strategy, it's that she is unable, by some quirk of personality, to be in any way aggressive.

It makes her dangerous as well as profitable. How people think about poker and about themselves has everything to do with their game. I think you are just such a naturally talented player, you've never needed to think much about these issues to be a winner.
