just imagine nfl football players playing rugby. brain urlacher, larry johnson, ed reed, julius peppers, ladainian tomlinson, wow. just need to find someone who can kick.

it seems like penalties are such a HUGE HUGE deal in rugby. like england was getting stopped again and again then bam the guy gets a hand to the face and it's a free 3 points in a 9-8 game. that's not right. how much cooler would it have been if that wilkinson dropkick was for the win.

You're retarded. NFL players don't need to have the level of conditioning due to the fact its a different [censored] game. I suspect most of the players actually do have the stamina to play rugby anyway (minus the fatass linemen).

action is so much more crowded in rugby. there are many more devastating hits in football (or hockey) than in rugby, simply because the action is more spread out.

rugby is clearly a violent sport. so is american football (see kevin everett).

and yes the usa sucks at rugby. no [censored]. no one plays it. if americans grew up playing rugby, i'd bet we'd be the best in the world.

I don't think anyone south of Nottingham even knows the rules to either form of rugby, although American Football fans can work out the rules to Rugby League by paying attention. Rugby Union has no discernable rules.
