I can't see the op mentioned because it was deleted.

edd is value added to bbv4l, but has caused problems in the past. He has been a big troll before and I have warned him about it. He is sane though and willing to tone it down if you hit him with a banstick for a while and tell him to stop being a [censored] moron.

If he is seriously trolling outside of bbv4l, I think I would have gone for a longer ban and let him know who's boss and say he's on his last legs.

Since Dids is lead mod of both forums it's obviously 100% his call. If he was [censored] around in OOT and you guys banned him I wouldn't raise much of a fuss, though. He knows the rules.

i agree completely that it is dids' call. it's just that at the time i made this post no action had been taken (dids had prob just not seen it) and i was just wondering wtf was going on.. the guy's history seems to be rife w/ offenses also.

The post was dumb, unfunny and pointless and I hate playing devil's advocate but for argument's sake what was so 'wrong' about it.

"Dumb unfunny and pointless" is pretty much the definition of trolling. Since you are a bbv4l reg you have a higher tolerance for dumb, unfunny and pointless because I had a higher tolerance for it than most mods and we had a higher level of noise: content/funny/quality ratio than most forums. As long as things abide by the T&C mods can basically set their own norms either by example, by a set of rules, or just by punishing/removing certain types of posters. That's part of what makes bbv4l special and free-spirited and fun (and incredibly annoying to mod).

Other subforums have different sets of norms that should be respected as well. If OOT says no 'QFT', people can bitch about it all they want in bbv4l. But when you step into someone else's forum you are implicitly agreeing to the rules in that forum. And people have to respect those differences.

Luckily it was Dids' forum this time and Dids probably doesn't care much.
