[ QUOTE ] Guess Petrino was pretty important! [/ QUOTE ] Petrino was as good as it gets IMO. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, what's the deal? Was there a lot of disatisfaction with him? If so, why? Not quite the same level but I'm kind of amused at Minnesota firing Glen Mason or people at Purdue grumbling about Tiller. Both took 3-8 programs and made them 7-5 programs. You're at friggin' Minnesota/Purdue, there's not a guy to "take you to the next level," you're there, it's as good as it gets now, and if by chance you do get a difference maker coach who could get you to elite status, he's bolting for the first good job opening. Learn to accept your mediocrity. |

Re: College Football Week 6
Weird to answer my own post, but I'm going to do just that now that I thought of a couple things.
One, in Mason's case his unabashed desire to go to OSU (or, frankly, anywhere else) didn't really do wonders for making him popular. But again, that's the point: anyone you get who is good is going to want to bolt; very hard to find someone very good and who is content to be the godfather of the program. The other thing I thought of is Wisconsin. They'll basically never contend for a national title but they've built a very strong program, aided in part by an unwillingness to play anyone remotely passable in the non-conference season. But they're already on shaky ground re: recruiting, since there isn't a ton of talent up there. They do well with what they can get, but the point is it's not like with them being good there's also room for a Minnesota or Purdue to become consistently good. But I guess aiming to be Wisconsin is what all of those schools want. |

Louisville, you guys can start playing now, thanks. BTW, Alex Smith and Urban Meyer are both gone, you should be killing Utah at home. 14 1/2 favorites my ass. MT2R tell me you jumped on that for Utah?

when are they going to ditch Brohm and bring Cantwell in your job is on the line now Kragthorpe [/ QUOTE ] Brohm is second in the nation in yards and fourth in QB rating, with 19 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. I don't think he's the problem. |

Re: College Football Week 6
Alright, a 1 score game now. 2 timeouts for UL, can they trust their defense to actually hold here? Back to back stops is asking a lot out of that defense.
