And the poker gods didn't give me much of a birthday present. Lost 900 in about 4 hours, but now I'm drunk so I'm ok with it.

Thanks for sharing, but you'll have to do better than that. My last 12 hours at the table have made me 80 big bets poorer. (arh1 now vomits in his mouth, then swallows it back down as punishment for losing every f'n hand where he flops the nuts or is otherwise the favorite)

Cheers!

Default I finished my Thesis

Yeah, way off topic but I know by far the most people in real life in this forum. The pieces are in place for me to become a master of economics (and much smarter than the rest of you) very soon.

Conveniently my lease is up in just over a so I'm moving out of Vegas; headed up to Seattle for the time being. Do they have poker up there? :-)

You know you want to come to Los Angeles. Just convince the fiancee and you're gold. No more staying at the Crowne when you play at Commerce. Do you really want to play at the Muck the rest of your life?

(Disclaimer: I've never been to the Muck)

On the other hand Seattle is quite nice and LA is all trafficy and dirty.

Sure but if he can live wherever then just find a spot 45 minutes to the south, preferably somewhere close to the ocean. All of the pleasure and none of the pain.

Wait, I mean, yeah go to seatle and stay far far away from our games.

Thank god for bad players. But for them I lose more money.

Recent hand on 30/60 game.

Really Bad player raises UTG. Folds to MP (apparently he doesn't care about value, as a you will see at the end of this post) who reraises. On the button, I four ball. Call, Call. (this is a five bet cap game.)

Flop: 245 rainbow. UTG bets. MP calls. I raise. Call, Call.

Turn is 9. Check, check, I bet. Call, Call. Now I am very happy, cuz I only need to fade an Ace then I am sure to be scooping the pot.

River: What else, an Ace. UTG bets. MP calls. I disgustedly fold.

UTG turns over 35. MP mucks face down but says to me "I had you all the way." Confirmed by the guy next to him that he had pocket Aces.

Seems like I should have lost a couple more big bets in the process.

Amusing hand last weekend. I am on fire and playing 10/20 FW with the weakest lineup I have ever seen and the only two tight players at the table are on my left. Its either 7 to the flop not raised or 4-5 to the flop raised once with 3 cold callers.

I have T6o in BB and a loose weak player at the table raises PF 1st in MP, cold called by two others and SB. I decide to call. Flop is KT6. I don't bet because PF raiser (PFR) will always call on flop and raise on turn with big hand. PFR bets 1st, 1st cold caller (CC) calls, two folds, I call.

Turn is a 9. I check because now PFR will only call with a possible straight out there, PFR bets, CC calls, I raise, two calls.

River is a Q. As I am thinking that this is horrifyingly bad, my right hand slips out an insta-bet. PFR agonizes and then calls. CC'er thinks a bit and folds.

I table my T6 proudly saying "two pair". PFR slams his AK face up on the table. CC'er almost too calmly picks up whats remaining of his chips and walks away. I like to think he had a bigger two pair.

How bad will traffic be going south on 101 (and eventually 5) from Santa Barbara to LA today if I leave at like 5pm?

The weather sucks right now but as soon as it's just grey and miserable and not rainy and miserable you need to come golf with GuyOnTilt, kyleb, stabn, and me. There's some live poker around here but it all mostly sucks.

I dunno what traffic on the south 101 from Santa Barbara to Thousand Oaks is like, but the stretch from Woodland Hills to downtown sucks badly until around 7pm. After that, you are go to go. Maybe delay your trip by an hour?
