It'd be awesome to listen to barry talk about poker at some of these camps. It's mind boggling some of the camps and other products out there that are just gouging people. In all liklihood, though, the average 2p2er isn't going to get anything out of these big name camps. These things are setup for novice poker players to learn from some of the big names in poker, but it is my impression that most of the "value" in these camps lie in being able to say "I got to meet X, Y, Z, poker players." I'm thinking about buying a seat in one of these camps and if I do I will provide a full trip report for you guys. tc [/ QUOTE ] Hahaha, the idea you would go to one of these whilst being better than most of the potential speakers and owning the best instructional site makes me lol for some reason. |

Re: Barry Greenstein\'s Broadcast of WCOOP
I wasn't taking shots at anyone in particular since I don't know who is currently running the camps. Usually the expertise of the higher-ups is in running camps, not in poker. And I have played with some of the instructors of the early camps and they were pretty clueless.
I saw Clonie run a playing session for her camp at the Mirage and she did a great job. I like Vanessa also. I'm sure they both do well with beginning and intermediate (using the term loosely) players. When I made my negative comment, I was thinking about how to teach serious players, the type who post here, for example. On the other hand, I assume that most of the players who go to the camps are just happy to rub shoulders with the TV players. By the way, when I was asked what players should do to get better, I responded that they should talk with other serious players or read the forums. But watching a good player play, which is partly how Mimi and my son Joe learned, is probably the best way. When I was answered this question, I thought of the method used by CardRunners, but I didn't want to spam a particular product. But since Taylor was once again so nice to me, I will do that here.
