and that was izzy alcantara

Ty for that. I just googled his name, and did you know the catcher's name was Jeremy Salazar? I lol'd.

[/ QUOTE ]

define "prospects". do you mean only rookie-eligible players?

[/ QUOTE ]

Oops, yes.

[/ QUOTE ]

assuming you mean rookies that played this year, the top five prospects in no particular order imo are:

justin upton
clay buchholz
tim lincecum
ryan braun
hunter pence

notables include yovani gallardo, james loney, troy tulowitzki, chris b. young. and phil hughes whoops

Would have tilted me so hard had you not put Hunter Pence up there. I'm an Upton fan as well. Braun will be sick.

Edit: J.R. Towles had a nice game the other nite for Houston. Cather of the future for Stros I hope.

upton > pence, but i would be an idiot if i didn't include pence up there.

braun and loney are comparable since braun's fielding at third is dog [censored] at best while loney plays a credibly good first base. both will have comparable hitting stats over the course of their careers.

Hmm interesting. How about guys that haven't played this year or that have played very little? I got a few in mind but I'm curious.

Edit: Also, Masterson or Bowden?

i was including those who haven't played. i don't think there is anyone with better prospectdom than the ones i listed, to be honest. justin upton was the only one that i would have included had he not been called up, since he's probably the most valuable commodity in all of baseball right now.

i forgot james shields, [censored]. he goes on the notable list.

anyway there are two position players who are going to excel but aren't better than tulowitzki/braun yet imo: reid brignac and evan longoria.
