Plus, if all you guys stretched and took care of your muscles and joints you'd have none of these problems.

damnnnn your bump is huge compared to mine

[/ QUOTE ]

Something to look forward to then

I think mine may be a bit bigger than that picture actually. I doubt yours will get that big unless you exercise a lot. I played sports around 20 hours a week throughout high school and that was the result. But as I said, mine haven't gotten smaller since I stopped so i dunno what to tell you

i played bball/football in high school. i had no problems til my senior year of bball when i got tendonitis in left knee. hurt incredibly bad to jump, play d, and even run hard. couldnt sit out cause it was senior year obv. that just started getting better after like 2 years.

this pain is new though, i havent been nearly as active in the past 2 years (mostly since its so painful to run and wwhatnot) but i occasionally play pick up bball/fball, but this just started out of nowhere basically.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yikes. So you played through the tendinitis and didn't treat it at all? There's a good chance you exacerbated the problem and instead of tendinitis (micro-tears in the tendon) you know have one of a few big tears that have scarred over. It's a good chance these two are related.

I was never treated. I just iced it after exercise to try to keep swelling of the bump down. It didn't help me tho so I stopped after a while. There might be some way to treat it but as far as i know, you're knees are f'ed.

I am no doctor but i do sell shoes at a specialty running store all day. Do you have flat feet or a low arch? If so it could help to wear orthotics or a shoe that have stability in your arch (i.e. dence rubber in the arch area of the sol and a plastic last). Wearing shoes that are broken down can be detrimental in your efforts to relieve the pain.

lol exaggeraments but come on, the majority of athletes i've known had to be forced to even do the minimum amount of calisthenics necessary for basic injury prevention
