Actually I think stars knows that the culling the best players at each level would be best for the game.

All this [censored] about stars losing tons of rake if shortstacking was eliminated is simply incorrect. Shortstackers PAY a lot of rake but they don't GENERATE a lot of rake. In general, shortstackers don't start games or keep them going, they join games that are already running and quit if they get short. Remove shortstacking and roughly the same number of games will run, IMO.

shortstackers keep the games running longer. the fish lose their money slower.

all that stuff about starting games and keeping short games going is pretty much irrelevant when compared with the fact that shortstackers reduce the good players' edges and make the fish less -ev.

and at all but maybe the highest stakes, having shortstackers fill seats will cause more games to get started.
