Chris Mortensen bungled one when he ran with the story that Eli would be out at least a month.

Earlier this season Bobby Abreu was at bat with a man on second and one out. It wasn't the ninth, but it was late in the game and the Yankees were behind by a run. After a long at bat, Abreu walked, bringing up ARod. Cue Joe Morgan.
"That's just not the result I want in that situation with my number three batter at the plate." Of course the Morgan idiocy went unremarked and unchallenged. |

I was just watching Playbook on NFL Network, and Sterling Sharpe was talking about the upcoming Chiefs-Bears game. He felt that this would be a good game for Tony Gonzalez to get going, since he had just 28 yards in the opening.
No mention of the fact that the Bears are the best team in the league at covering opposing tight ends. |

So who let the love in? Now for some of the greatest quotes ever:
"look at that little monkey go!" - Howard Cosell on Redskins WR Alvin Garrett after a run. "If Miami wins tonight, the Colts would have to win out for the rest of the season just to go 8-8. And trust me, that's one Indy 500 that nobody saw coming." - Dennis Miller, MNF. "Truth be told, the Monday Night Football vineyard has not yielded an exquisite vintage so far this year. A lot of Ripple, Thunderbird, and Boone's Farm turning up on the wine list." - Dennis Miller on MNF's weak game selection. Its no secret that Warner is an ardent, practicing Christian. Im sure he remembers some long afternoons when the Lions beat up on the Christians. Tonight it could be payback time. - Dennis Miller on Kurt Warner's Rams vs. Detroit Lions. I go way back with Lovie, when he was married to Jim Backus. - Dennis Miller on Lovie Smith. "The guy's been around so long, he's their Indian-Head nickel-back." - Dennis Miller on Redskins' Darryl Green. "Claude Rains on the tackle" - Dennis Miller on a ball carrier who accidentally trips and falls down completely untouched. |

Well, they need more than 448 yards and 0 TD's out of Tony Gonzalez this year to be effective.
448 yards just isn't going to cut it, Tony. |
