It's considered really disgusting to blow your nose in public here in Thailand.

The problem is that when eating spicy food, I can't give it a good blow and get rid of heaps of mucus at once. Then I could do it one or two times again until the meal is over. Instead I have to wipe my nose, which doesn't clear it at all, so instead of 2 good blows, it's like 12 wipes, which leaves the skin irritated while not stopping the disgusting drip of mucous that will be coming in 8 god damn seconds. It also means like crapload of tissues.

Is it weird that when i sneeze in public I pull my t-shirt over my nose and sneeze directly into it? I figure this saves me from contaminating my hand, and the immediate area around me?

I've got chronic sinusitis and either blow my nose or hack up phlegm over a dozen times a day on bad days. Yeah it's sick.
