Re: BAN ON SMOKING
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] ... someones right to not smoke cancerous chemicals... [/ QUOTE ] Fun fact: Cigarette smoking has never been scientifically proven to cause cancer. [/ QUOTE ] ehh, this is kinda misleading. We know that the chemicals in cigarettes are carcinogens. We also know that 500,000 more smokers die per year than non-smokers due to a certain set of illnesses associated with smoking. regardless of whether causality can be proven or not, the correlation is there. perhaps for some reason smokers all lick the toilet or eat goo they find on the ground, and this is the reason they all get cancer and heart disease, but its not very likely. |

Re: BAN ON SMOKING
I personally hate cigarette smoke and even I think banning it in open areas is pretty absurd. I'm all for letting people do whatever they want as long as they're not hurting anyone and I think it's safe to say smoking outside probably isn't hurting too many "innocent bystanders".

Re: BAN ON SMOKING
It's a proven fact that drunk drivers pose a possible risk of killing people. Let's ban alcohol and cars. That should solve the problem.

Now run along to your non-smoking bar and leave my friends and I to kill ourselves and smell like smoke in peace. Do you honestly think your government should be able to tell me not to smoke in my bar just to make you happy? If I choose to play a certain type of music in my bar that you hate should the government ban that too just so you can hang out there? If you don't like the music at my bar you don't ask the government to ban it or change it, you [censored] leave and go to another bar. And thats the way it should be, if you don't like being at a bar that allows smoking, GO TO A BAR THAT DOESN'T! |

Re: BAN ON SMOKING
And another point, it [censored] amazes me how some of you people can be so ignorant when it comes to the government overstepping their boundaries. As long as its something you approve of, its all ok in your mind. You support a ban on smoking and defend the government's right to do so and then you wonder why the UIGEA exists. [censored] idiots.
