In mid august 2005, the average unique monthly visitors was 172,000 at mises.org alone.

Any we all know the requirements for viewing a website is agreeing with everything on it.

What do you mean?

[/ QUOTE ]
Well.. What did you mean when you posted a (relatively) meaningless statistic? Did you imply that they are all or even a majority of anarcho-capitalists?

[/ QUOTE ]

Can you answer the question?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, once you answer yours.

[/ QUOTE ]

I made a statement for which you asked no clarification, instead you made a response. For that response I have asked for clarification. Why can't you give it?

[/ QUOTE ]

Since you need everything spelled out like a 10 year old, why not. Your statement about the number of unique visitors to website is virtually meaningless unless you have some way of determining how many of those visitors are actually ACists. Do you actually think that all or even a majority of the 172,000 visitors are?

That's a good question. From experience I would say about half of the traffic comes from links/internet searches and the other half are from regular readers.

Regular readers from mises.org might not all be anarcho-capitalists but certainly they are Austrian leaning free marketeers (why else would they read it regularly).

Given that this statistic is only from one month and it's only from one (although big) website, and it was back in 2005, I think it's safe to say that one estimate of someone in this thread [50,000] is surpassed with a high certainty.

Alfrin M. and another I can't remember, though Alfrin posts occasionally.

Who was the guy that had FDR as his avatar? Now that was a statist!

[/ QUOTE ]

Theftarian.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's moorobot. Propertarian was the other one, Ian.

[/ QUOTE ]

Propertard's avatar was like Craig Biggio or someone, IIRC. And then I think he switched it to a black guy (whom I didn't recognize) towards the end of his career.

These statists seem to like to use avatars of other persons. I wonder if there is anything to that (or if the trend even exists).

You are just trying to bait me into a personal attack so that I get banned. The fact that you ask this question again proves my point that you aren't very good at understanding things.

Unfortunately being a regular reader of a website doesn't meet the criteria presented by the original reader.

Its a meaningless statistic the fact that you don't recognize that is pretty strange. You don't know anything about the demographics of that website. They could all be high school drop outs for all we know.

I would beg to differ. Regular readers of mises.org are about as close to 'serious ACists' as you can get.

I don't see any reason for teen rebel 'anarchists' to read mises.org on a regular basis.

You must not know a lot about statistics.

Besides, do you realize that mises.org advocates home schooling over public school? You must not know much about mises.org either.

If I had to guess I'd say you were a big state statist. Welcome to the forum.

[/ QUOTE ]

I haven't been reading much of this, but this caught my eye.

I'm curious, does mises actually advocate home schooling over "group" private schooling? I don't really understand why the distinction would matter to mises. And beyond that, I don't think I'd agree that home schooling would be the norm in an AC society.

I mean, does mises advocate I bake my own pizza too? I just don't see why homeschooling vs. private schooling would be of any interest to them. Maybe you could have just as easily typed private schooling when you typed homeschooling, and I'm reading too much into it. I'm just curious if you're suggesting mises specifically advocates homeschooling.
