Sorry, I'm a little tired tonight.
I like looking at ranges against ranges. I'm gonna make a commitment though to learn the pushbot charts better. |

Too bad PS doesn't spit out a # of hands or a % of possible hands that a given range represents. For example if I enter "AA" for a player, that range represents 6 hands out of 1326 possible or .4%. That one is easy, but it's not so simple if you pick a large range like
"66+,A4s+,K8s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,A9o+,KTo+,QTo+,JT o" it's certainly not impossible...just more difficult. |

You can type "15%" and it will show you what hands represent the top 15% of all hands. I think that would be more useful. Then, you can narrow down likely hands given what cards are out. i.e. You have A-K, Flop is A-K-6. Your opponent's holding AA or KK is very unlikely, because there are only 2 of each left, thus, they have to have 1 or 2 exact holdings. Thus, 66, or AK, A6, or Ax is more likely.
But knowing the range your opponent will play against, given the action, can narrow down his holding. For example, if you raise on the button, and your opponent only defends his BB about 10% of the time, his likely range is: 77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo So, you can take out A6, and maybe 66 out of his range. |
