Re: ***Official 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread***
In all seriousness I don't think it's very likely at all that the Steelers get through the at Denver, at Cinci, home against the Ravens gambit unscathed even if the bengals look bad and the Ravens and Broncos look mediocre.

Re: ***Official 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread***
There are too many variables including injuries, lucky plays, etc. that can happen. 12-0 after 3 weeks is highly improbable. Pittsburgh and NE have the talent to win every game but freak things happen all the time in sports. Road games aren't easy either especially in-conference and in-division.

Re: ***Official 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread***
Where are all the Steelers fans this year? We finally look great again and everyone is missing. The team has little to no chance to be 12-0 against the pats - but at least they aren't maddening this season. Thoughts on Tomlin's start?

They've had a big benefit of roughing up some good / decent to pretty mediocre teams. I think they are good. I want to see how they do with the Pats, Colts of the league.

Re: ***Official 2007 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread***
Arizona doesn't know who their QB is and Seattle is not very good. In all seriousness, I think Denver is our biggest immediate problem.
It's not that I think Denver is any good. Getting screwed by bad calls and getting in generally strange games in Denver was a hallmark of the Cowher era. Concerning the Bengals, my only worry is how Willie Parker responds to 40 carries. Will Willie get tired after 300 yards? 350? As far as how the Steelers play against the "Pats,Colts" of the league, well, that's a problem. There are two really good teams right now: the Pats and the Colts. That's it. Outside of, of course, the Steelers, there are no more teams clearly of that caliber (yet). Barring injuries, they'll just have to blow through the schedule they were given. |

I really really like this year's team. It's kinda sad to see Hines with a diminished role, but I think it's the natural progression of things.
Defense looks great and Polamalu seems to be getting his timing back. |

bones,
i thought the exact same thing. felt a little wistful that hines is in decline, but still very excited with the offense. i think this team can be on the same level as the colts or patriots, just very solid all around. |

There is a VERY legitimate chance that the Dec. 9 game vs. the Patriots could be a battle of two 12-0 teams...that would be amazing! Hopefully that game will be switched to MNF! [/ QUOTE ] No, but it is probably the two best teams in the league going at it (hopefully Indy or someone in the AFC has lots of wins so the game actually matters) |
