The 30/20/2.5 ish style is a nice balanced style because it both allows you to run over predictable TAGs , extract value from passives and not be pushed over by hand reading LAGs. However it doesnt exploit each category to the fullest.

I keep wanted to start a thread about this but never got around to it. What would ATSB and fold BB and SB stats look like for an average 30/20? What range is he opening from which positions?

[/ QUOTE ]
I am interested in that too.

I think from my personal experience Stox' opening recommendations get you in the 20 PFR range, and defending like 50% might result in 26 VPIP.

Why in the world would anyone play LHE games on Stars?

Maybe it's because the badbeats take less time to recover and cause less mind damage?

@ StarRain

Welcome back!

But the games have toughened up.

A little about me: I play small to mid stakes at mostly party and a little at Stars. I have quite a lot of experience with AP as well.

First of: If you can beat Party 10/20 + for 3BB/100 you are the superman of poker. I highly doubt that anything above 2BB/100 is sustainable unless you 2-table or less and play REALLY REALLY good.

And FWIW. Games at party are not that much better than at stars. If you consider the better incentive structure in Stars' VIP program I actually think that you can make more money there. But dont expect to make more than 1.5BB/100 @ 10/20 and above. And that is if you are a really good player. Since you havent played limit in a while I wouldnt be surprised if you were a break even player now.

BTW the guy who claims that party 5/10 is beatable for 3BB/100 long term is either an idiot or the best poker player in the world. My guess is the first.

EDIT:

I missed absolution's post.

I really agree with him.

Party games arent that sweet

The fish are changing. Less loose passive 60/5 types and more lagtard 50/30 types. Both are exploitable but its a hell of a lot easier to play the loose passive. The European fish in particular tend to be maniac lag tards more than the American fish. I might be wrong tho.

Hello, thanks for your warm welcome
I do feel the games are toughened up
That's why I table select very carefully and avoid playing against any regulars (Even though being a regular doesn't always mean to be a good player)

If my momory was correct (Which might be wrong according what you said), a 2BB/100 winner isn't that uncommon @ $5/$10 by 1 year ago? Or FR pro generally earns a higher BB/100 since less hands played per hour? I remember that reading a few graphs of around 2BB/100 winrate from several high stake players last year (One of them was regarded as making at least 1 million and running super hot @ PP highest stake games, I forgot who it was).

Anyway, my impression indicates that making 3BB/100 is difficult no matter whenit was, but 2BB/100 isn't too much a surprise for full time pros, correct me if my memory is wrong.

I think I might need a lot of time to adjust my style to fit in the current online environment (Some weird floating after calling my stealing @ BB without any pairs/draws then bluff at river when I check the turn, as I came across for the first few days playing $3/$6)

Maybe it isn't worth of moving if PP isn't much softer recently. However, what kind of winrate do you reckon is more sustainable for a good winning player (Slightly above general regulars, not saying I am one now, just being a long term goal). Thanks again

I wonder how many things could have changed within one year...

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, nobody winning at 3BB/100 was the norm one year ago, and also two years ago. Three years ago Schneids and nikla did, and for all we know they were running at least a little bit hot.

[/ QUOTE ]

And at least one of them is Mike [censored] Schneider.

Hello sethypooh, I seem to see you on multiple $10/$20 tables a lot @ PS. Do you mind sharing a little bit about how those tables run? I actually try to avoid playing at the same table with you because a regular is usually a winning player :P. Nice to see you on 2+2

My winrate at 5/10 to 15/30 over the last 120k hands is about 1.4.

So that should definetely be achievable as I am far from perfect.

If you are a good player as in above average compared to the average poster here and in MHSSH you should be able to make something around 1.5 to 2 BB/100 IMO. But note that that would also make you a VERY good player.

Well, it's probably hard to avoid my tables, because I'm at them all, muahahahaha...Seriously though, the games are still beatable, but I agree with Oink's assesment, pretty much word for word (though his WR is about .1 better than mine. BASTARD...)

srry I had to before it inevitably drops off (dropped 2k$ at 10/20 yesterday).

This has been in 4 months (over 1 month in the middle I was away in vegas/LA) plus like 8-9k in gift certificates from stars VIP store , plus 2-3k in bonii from stars milestone + other sites..

Grinding limit is certainly still very attractive, although still less so than NL.

Brag: I'm up on Heisenberg over the summer.
Beat: He's probably 10k ahead of me for the fall at this point
Variance: Ship the 3k bonus in about 3k more hands
