I donīt know if you were fishing for this but I can tell you that 99% of your posts are good.
The only post you made that sucked was the one critizing me for posting too many posts in a row.
I also think that your avatar sucks and that Ireland showed why.

Chad

Going into sophomore year in college.
Played baseball soccer and alpine skiing in high school, now just baseball at D3 school.
Got a girlfriend and crappy job mowing lawns that takes up a lot of my summer poker time. Back to school soon though, hopefully I'll be able to get more hands in.

I started playing poker at Pacific Poker when they were offering $10 free when you sign up. So I signed up (underage obv.) and grinded that to $100 playing .05/.10 full ring against some SERIOUS donks. I would gladly go back to Pacific and single table on crappy software to play against those Pacific donks. I was crushing up to 2/4 there with no major downswings over a year or two.

Managed to cash out my roll without Pacific ever knowing I was underage when IUGEA was passed. Put most of it away, deposited $400 into Stars. Grinded it up a bit playing fullring, started playing 6max and haven't won since.

Name: Matt
Born: Rochester, NY
Place of Residence: Bangkok, Thailand
Education: BA Economics, William and Mary
Employment: Worked for Accenture, doing system integration crap
Parents: Very disappointed - haha

That's right, I quit a "very good job" (it blew ass) in Washington, DC, to play poker full time in Thailand. Some people think that that decision was insane, while others say "you're my hero". The verdict is still out. I'm 31 years old, so I could be hanging myself here. Who knows. All I know is that my life is a hell of a lot better now than it was in a D.C. cubicle. This SSSH forum don't hurt none, either, that's for sure.

Some of you may wonder why I don't post much advice. Honestly, it's because I don't think that my advice is worth posting - I'm really not very good. I leave posting advice to the likes of Oink and Heisenburg. Hopefully that'll change soon.

-Brass

Age:34
Name:Keith
Location:Wisconsin/On the ocean
Occupation:Merchant Mariner
Education:BS Marine Transportation
Hobbies:Golf,Rugby(not so much anymore),banjo

Always liked playing kitchen table poker at home and with High School friends. When I started sailing in the Merchant Marine in the early to mid 90's I played a little aboard ship and bought a poker book by a guy named A.D. Livingston. I worked on a casino boat in Gary, In. for about 1 1/2 years and would play poker about once a month at one of the area boats. I got into online in 02' on Pacific and bought WLLH. Shortly thereafter I found 2+2 and in 05 and 06 made a good amount casino whoring and a small amount in poker. Unfortunately, I didn't really keep it in a seperate account so I squandered it on dumb things like paying my car off early etc so I'm still at 3/6. I play about 10-15k hands a month when I'm home and 0 hands/month when I'm out here at sea. I'm home 1/2 the year though with nothing to do so it works out O.K.

Jason. Or usually some diminutive thereof.
33 yrs old.
Single.
Live in Calgary.
Studied philosophy at university way back when.

Play volleyball a few times a week most of the year, until my knees give out for good, anyway. Spending all day in my damn chair doesn't help matters. It's surprisingly hard on your joints. When the anthropologist dig up our bones they're going to take one look at all the damaged wrists and conclude that we were a generation of chronic masturbators.

My medium term plans include a working tour of the world. A couple months living in most of the places I think I might like to settle down in. Of course, I need to finally learn how to play poker first to finance everything.

My longer term plans involve a comfortable little home somewhere in proximity to a large body of water and a whole lot of time to enjoy life + write about it.

A slightly-depressingly-long time ago, my poker career started like this:

i'm trapped in the world of peasant vision

5 channels of varying signal strength

it's late and i'm thinking about going to sleep, trying to get some writing done, realizing that i've stopped even pretending to care about all the spec articles i'm supposed to be working on

all i want to do is write

really write

and that's not going to pay the bills

then one of those strange congruences creeps into my life

an ad for a problem gambling hotline comes on, and i say to myself, "hey yeah... i've been meaning to play some more poker"

next up is an anthony robbins infomercial, and a half an hour later it was "[censored]' A... i can fully be a poker player"

i'd been to a casino one time, played in maybe a dozen home games, always liked poker and tried to learn what i could, but that wasn't very much

sounds like a winning formula to me

time to go pro

it all seemed to come together

an amazon credit subsidized my first book purchase

i exited the xmas season with turbo texas holdem

started saving my pennies, and all that was left to do was learn how to play

studied physics/maths/computing/philosophy
worked in computing for 18 years, hated the last 15 years of it gave it up for poker and loving it

Started playing poker in the Crown Casino Melbourne after watching England give the Aussies a sound thrashing. Discovered Planet poker and Paradise when she who sleeps at night went to Oz for 2 months. Started in the 20/40 at paradise back then ha-haha-haha, discovered 2+2 books and worked my way down to 3/6.
