Worst feature is that Firefox randomly deletes your bookmarks and no one knows why.

s because my bookmarks menu is pretty large and is populated by things I don't visit often but I want to keep saved. The drop-down menu has all the pages I visit regularly but because it isn't sorted by recent usage it's not very efficient. [/ QUOTE ] This is what the "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" is for. |

I remember it being an option in older Firefox editions to have new tabs open to the current page. Am I crazy? [/ QUOTE ] Naw, must have been an extension you had installed. Just use Tab Mix Plus, it's awesome. |

Re: Two things I hate about Firefox vs. Explorer
found just what I was looking for:
Duplicate Tab This lets me keep the default behavior of opening new tabs as blank pages, but when I do want to clone the current tab can right click on the tab and select duplicate tab. It preserves the history too. |

Re: Two things I hate about Firefox vs. Explorer
You can set your buttons to whatever you want.
My middle button is set to duplicate tab, though I never use it. I have Drag de Go for drag/release links to open them in new tabs. Drag to the right or down to open tab in background, drag left or up to open in foreground. Highlight text -> drag/release to google what you highlighted. Immensely customizable. You can perform four different variations for four different directions of dragging/releasing. |

Worst feature is that Firefox randomly deletes your bookmarks and no one knows why. [/ QUOTE ] They aren't deleted, you have just accidentally created a new profile. Your old bookmarks are likely sill on your computer. check your application data directory. c:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles If there are more than one you have found your problem. Figure out which one you actually want and delete the other. A simple google search turns up dozens of people who have had this problem, and the solutions. |

[/ QUOTE ] I've also found this application pretty useful for backing up or transferring my firefox profile (bookmarks, settings, add-ins, extensions, etc.) from one machine to another MozBackup It is basically a few clicks to create a backup file, and then a few clicks to restore the backup |

Re: Two things I hate about Firefox vs. Explorer
I don't think this is well known:
In both Firefox and IE you can delete mis-spellings or any other URLs you don't want in the autocomplete by highlighting them (down-arrow) and hitting the DELETE key. |
