I think you gotta push the turn because if he's calling you with 88 or 77 (or even a jack which I think doesn't happen), it's because he's putting you on 77 or Jx, with x certainly greater than J. So, there are potentially 12 scare cards. If he's bluffing (no one mentioned this and I think it's really unlikely anyway), he's not gonna shove the river if you call the turn, so I think it's an easy shove.

If any of this has already been said, I apologize.

A fair question would be, why play 700 BB's deep if not to bury someone else that deep? Presumably, it's to get at this particular guy's stack, which means that you've gotten your opportunity. Did you want a better board for J7 than JJ78?

As for the actual hand, either shove now (preferred) or call and get it in regardless on the river. This is 88 a lot of the time and a big J or 77 a decent amount. If he has J8, so be it, but you're not getting away from this and I can't see him playing the goods this fast.

Wanted to add my line here would be to tank and look totally confused then mutter something about spiking an eight before calling. And getting it in on the river, because I think you're either drawing dead or he's drawing at one out or three outs most of the time, except when he's played AA this way, which, I honestly dont think you can rule out, either way, you're too deep to shove here imho.

I feel like that if you are capable of giving off false tells this is _the_ time to hollywood and do some moanin' and groanin'.

Pound a beer, say something about an eight... club, quads. Then ship it.

i vote he shoved guy folded.

p.s. i vote call and call river, i think shoving sometimes gets him to fold 888, no joke. it might push him off a chop though!

I would stay consistent with my bet sizing up to that point and stick in another min re-raise

This guy raising with j8 is obviously lagging it up, if i flopped the boat with 77 and lagged is behind me why would i check raise, so a concept in harringtons book he says to drop the hammer on the turn.

Why would guy be limp calling with j8 thats horrible. That is so unlikey here given flop call.

I dont see how ud fold this.
