USC/NE will be sick.
If I were to go to a game, I'd agree w. the consensus with LSU/UF. SEC games are crazy. But still, those hating on the usc/NE game are wrong- Memorial stadium is a great atmosphere for any CFB fan. And the game will be closer than most think (i hope). |

[ QUOTE ] http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mul...ontent.1.html# SI's take on the 20 best games of the upcoming year. USC/Nebraska nowhere to be found. LSU/Florida is #1, UM/OSU #2, and my original suggestion, UM/Wisconsin, is #6. PSU/Notre Dame is #20, but I can't see why that game really matters that much at all. [/ QUOTE ] you may want to recheck that list. USC/NU is #8. [/ QUOTE ] Ah, good call. Seemed strange to me that they would have it off entirely. |

I saw this today...from ticketcity. Top avg. prices for tickets to this year's games: 1 Penn State vs. Notre Dame September 8 State College, Pa. $1,100.00 2 Michigan vs. Ohio State November 17 Ann Arbor, Mich. $1,000.00 3 Notre Dame vs. USC October 20 South Bend, Ind. $950.00 4 Michigan vs. Notre Dame September 15 Ann Arbor, Mich. $696.00 5 Notre Dame vs. Boston College October 13 South Bend, Ind. $661.00 6 Florida vs. Florida State November 24 Gainesville, Fla. $581.00 7 Auburn vs. Alabama November 24 Auburn, Ala. $571.00 8 Texas vs. Oklahoma October 6 Dallas $555.00 9 Georgia vs. Florida October 27 Jacksonville, Fla. $515.00 10 Nebraska vs. USC September 15 Lincoln, Neb. $505.00 If money is no object, I would choose Ohio St/Michigan, USC/ND, or Bama/AU (biased obv.) Contrary to the earlier post, I would not want to go to Nebraska/USC. There are no rivalry aspects to it, and there are no championship implications, except national championship implications for USC if they get upset, but they will likely be better than 2 TD favorites. [/ QUOTE ] There's the exact same amount of national championship implications in the usc vs. nu game as lsu vs. uf. In fact, if you take all 4 of these teams, uf has the most questions out of everybody, and usc is the consensus #1 team. Lsu vs. uf has conference championship implications and is a rivalry. I'll give you that. Btw, what's the average price of hotels of the games on that list? The price gouging for hotels in Lincoln the weekend of 9/15 is pretty outrageous. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] If you have aba's stacks of money lying around in your den, Has to be UofM/OSU. [/ QUOTE ] If your budget is more pedestrian, pretty much any SEC matchup between two competitive teams should be wonderful. [/ QUOTE ] QFT. Louisville/Kentucky tickets are still available; Lexington is a wonderful town and atmosphere for tailgating and the game should by all means showcase two of the best offenses in the nation and possibly 1000+ total yards. [/ QUOTE ] If you're going to go to an SEC game this year i don't think attending a UK game should be very high on the priority list. Have been there. The atmosphere is decent. But it's certainly not worth going out of your way for compared with some of the other schools. If you're going to make a road-trip to Lexington for a sporting event then obviously a basketball game would be a far better choice. |

clearly, I'm behind Florida @ LSU
I've been just about everywhere in Big11Ten and SEC country Nothing beats Saturday night in Baton Rouge LSU @ Bama could be interesting due to potential SEC West title and Saban storylines I'd hold off on Ohio State/ Michigan for a year they play at Ohio State The Big House is big, but kind of crappy as a stadium....it's a flat bowl that isn't the most intimidating...much like the Rose Bowl. Ohio Stadium is the best single stadium I've been to in person. I haven't been to Gainesville yet. That is on the to-do list. I'm thinking about going to South Carolina/Clemson one of these years as Spurrier has South Carolina as a legit SEC East contender and those two schools hate each other. It will be nice to see that rivalry with top25 teams. As far as pure hate, nothing, and I mean nothing, beats Auburn-Alabama. Personally, I'm probably going to that in a few years when Saban has the Tide back. Of course, the trouble is the SEC has 6 or so schools competing for a national title in the next 5 years, so it's hit-or-miss on whether a late season game will mean anything here, where tOSU-Michigan has at least one team competing for the Big11Ten title and then some. |

The Big House is big, but kind of crappy as a stadium....it's a flat bowl that isn't the most intimidating...much like the Rose Bowl. [/ QUOTE ] It does suck now, but it is going under major renovations over the next 3 years. Adding tons of amenities that are commonplace at newer stadiums and building more vertical structures (press/luxury boxes, etc.), which should help direct some of the noise at the field. Being in the student section there is kind of frustrating when you're hoping to be noise enough on opposing 3rd downs. There's simply just too much open space and a lot of the noise gets lost. |
