Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??
A very close one is New York Jets winning the super bowl in January 1969, the Mets winning the World Series in 69, and then the Knicks winning the championship for the 69-70 season.

Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??
2001 yankees giants devils - all lost
then the nets lost in 2002. believe that in 1980 philadelphia was pretty close to doing this also - eagles lost the super bowl, flyers lost the stanley cup, 76ers lost in the NBA finals, but the phillies won |

Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??
I'd put the true odds at:
Celtics: 22-1 Red Sox: 6.5-1 Pats: 8-1 |

Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??
[ QUOTE ]
EDIT: but it was nearly done in 1986 with Boston - the Celtics romped, the Red Sox gagged, and the Patriots got pummeled in the SB. So there's an example of them at least making it to the championship game. [/ QUOTE ] Except that leaves out the Bruins. In 1980 all 4 Philly teams went to the championship game/series. Only the Phillies walked away with hardware though. |

Re: All 3 Boston teams winning the championship??

Except that leaves out the Bruins. [/ QUOTE ] Except no one cares about hockey, and the title of this thread alludes to baseball, football, and basketball. Cool factoid about Philly, though. Donkey, Not that I'm a hockey fan at all, but Bruins attendance > Ducks attendance. What's going on in Boston with its hockey fans isn't all that uncommon across the NHL. It also has some of the worst management, further alienating fans. |
