Re: Online Cheating (What Do You Think?)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Of all the things online cheaters may be able to do, seeing whole cards is most definitely not one of them. Dealt cards in each hand are dealt randomly based on entropy of all sorts and encrypted. Hackers would need to un-encrypt it, and even then poker sites can detect easily if any attempt at this is made. Its imposssible, you're better off colluding. [/ QUOTE ] Not impossible to see others hole cards just very unlikely. There is a way though where you can see the cards and the encryption doesn't matter. I don't think it would be a good idea to put it out there any way since it probably can be done relatively easy to the uninformed internet users. I'm sure people here have a clue on how it can be done. [/ QUOTE ] As has been mentioned here several times, you could make use of trojans, but cheating at poker isn't a cost-effective choice of crimes once you have control of someone else's computer. There's been one incident of poor RNG seeding for a software PRNG algorithm allowing hole cards to be "seen", but that only worked until it was found and anything that let you see hole cards would tend to set off collusion detection algorithms. You can hack the servers, in theory, but that only works until you're caught and relies on the existence of an exploitable hole--so no known incidences so far. Moreover, if you have control of their computers and a limited time to use it, cheating at poker is a poor use of the power you temporarily have. You could make use of an insider, but only until he goes to prison. Bottom line: The Internet is conducive to certain times of crimes, but poker cheating isn't one of them. |
