Not that I have played with him, but I heard that em2 was a little nitty, but re-steals/squeezes at a decent frequency, and hence his range is probably quite wide.

So what about the maniac? A proportion of maniacs are just very very aggressive in small pots, but will not stack off light, and actually play OK in big pots. Is this maniac just there to gamble, or does he actually read the game well? I think the answer relies on this question.

If your unsure how the maniac plays, then I think you have to default to shoving, as the chances are he is bad.

Really no way of telling what's best here, it's such a rare spot.

My rule of thumb, if it's super-high variance and I don't really know if it's +EV or not, I tend to fold

I'm surprised by how many of you guys fold this.

If BB had folded, you're getting it in vs EM2 right? If so, I don't see how BB shoving makes that much of a difference. His range is mostly filled with hands we're flipping against, and we're occasionally crushing him and very rarely getting crushed ourselves. Also, a shove by us here could get EM2 off of AK / QQ or worse given that we shoved over a 4 bet.

EM2 is going to be squeezing with probably AJ+, 88+, and throw in some bluff/semibluff hands and we're doing very well against his 3 betting range. Against his calling range we're probably not in fantastic shape (not horrible either though especially with the odds we're getting on our money), but so much of his 3 betting range is folding to a push I don't see how we can fold this.

For those that want to fold, who are you scared of? EM2 or the maniac?
