Here's something I've been wanting (and whining about) for some time... I emailed Stars support last year about it but figure I'll bring it up again since there are Stars folks reading this.
I believe the note-taking function can be improved greatly. I try to capture as much context as possible in my notes (game type, buyin, blind level, position, etc.) to make my notes more meaningful. But trying to type this in each time I make a note is tiresome and causes me to miss some action on future hands. I'd love it if each note I enter were pre-populated with contextual information... preferably that can be user-defined. Maybe something like: [NLHE/MTT/20/400] Raised 5x from SB over limper, showed A6o. ...where you have the game, game type, buyin (20), and blind level pop up automatically before you even type the note. This should be customizable for cash games, S&Gs, etc. Stars folks: any drawbacks to implementing somehting like this (other than the programming time and expense)? |

1) Ability to register for all tournaments hours in advance in the same manner that the Daily $50k and $100k tournaments offer registration. 2) Auto-rebuys and addons in rebuy tournaments. This one is just an absolute must [/ QUOTE ] Also, 1) more late registration. 2) 5 min breaks at same time for all tournaments. 3) I may be wrong, but I think the FT approach of having the prize distribution visible before the tournament starts and updating as people register is even more attractive to fish than more guarantees. Just a feeling though, Im not sure. |

"Ability to register for all tournaments hours in advance"
I like how you put this right at the top. This one pisses me off pretty much everytime I play. It should also be like the easiest one to implement. As for the rest of your post -- agree 100%. |

I don't see what the big deal is with bigger antes, why do you guys care soooo much about this. [/ QUOTE ] It caters to more aggressive blind stealers. With blinds at 1000/2000 and antes 100 (like now), the pot is usually 3900 preflop. If you made the antes 200 or 250, you are looking at a pot of 4800-5250 preflop which is a 23-34% bigger pot than with the smaller antes. This makes blind stealing more important and favors players who can adjust their style to increasing stealing frequency than those who play the same as smaller antes and steal less. |

I also second the 20% crap. It dilutes the payout system so much. I'd rather have $$$ at the FT and the last few tables be higher than ocasionally cashing when I finish in that 15-20% range. I think cashing something like 32nd in a 1500 person MTT and getting like 3x buy-in is pretty stupid.

Are there any higher buy-in MTTs with the 20%? If it's only the lower buy-ins, I don't really see the problem if the fishies love it. I imagine Stars did some research into this.

More postflop poker, less move-in poker. |
