I think it's a commonly held fallacy that NBA players can't shoot. If they couldn't shoot they wouldn't be in the league, unless they are exceptional rebounders or defenders. The reality is that NBA defenses these days are so good that a good/open shot is hard to come by. Put those players against lesser defenses and I think you'd be surprised how well they shoot.
