Nah, 40 could fit fine in any dorm that was built at least somewhat recently, meaning the rooms won't be tiny. This is also good for when you move into some place that has a living room, so your TV won't be too small.

I got a 42" samsung Plasma last year for my room at school. While it was great for bringing people over and playing video games, my school didnt let me wall mount it or install HD cable, so we got a fuzzy singal from the university cable, which made it kinda waste. I also went abroad, so had I just waited until this year, I'd have a 1 year newer TV at probably a better price. The point with this stuff is, dorm rooms are often not ideal environments for the illest of buys, I'd definitly hold off until getting your own off campus place and/or make sure you can at least get HDTV.

Ok, I got the exact dimensions of the room. I drew in a rough sketch of where the bed and desk are, and the black area is the closet space, obv its big cuz i need room for the doors to swing open.

32" seem good?
