5.5: Maniac goes all in at the beginning, call justified?

Given your read I call pretty quickly.

Maniacs tend to take a lot of people out (b/c they get lucky, but they don't usually last long) When you have a great hand you need to take advantage and try and double up.

I love when I have a maniac at my table and I pray for a good hand before he dumps his stack off to someone other than me.

You lost this hand, but long term you're making a lot of money here.
