I didn't, I wandered in to some Irish bar "Scruffy Murphy" and got stuck to a barstool drinking beer chang and listening to this awesome band.


The drummer dude did a sick Marley and the girl had serious pipes. It was pretty funny to watch a bunch of indian and japanese dudes doing jigs when the white guy busted out the fiddle. Expensive but awesome bar, I highly recomend it.

Dinner last night, Tom Yum Goom. This turned out to be the exact same soup I had earlier in the thread, but bigger and spicier. The menu was all in thai (english thai, not squigly nonsense thai) so I just pointed at something at random in the soup section.



Up at noon again today, so breakfast/lunch. Glass noodle salad with pork.

I checked in to my hotel and was super stoked with the room, realy nice. Sweet balcony, big ass bed and most importantly


So awesome, this is what the bathrooms in all my other hotels have looked like, thats the shower on the left.


Unfortunatly I couldn't get the lights to turn on, I wandered back down to the desk and they informed me that there was no power. Seems like something you'd mention upon checking in, but who am I to say? I figure I'll just bail if its not fixed by eight or so because I'm a huge sissy that can't sleep without AC.

I tried to take some pictures on hooker street (I assume thats Bangla Rd.) as I stumbled home, but they all turned out like this.

I'd already booked a hotel in karon before I even got to patong because I assumed I was going to hate it. It was actually pretty cool though, I was picturing Atlantic City sleazy, but it was more Vegas Strip sleazy, I'll def be back in the next couple days and I'll try to get some good pictures.

18 is legal so it's not a question of age, more of maturity.

Over here, I've seen 50yr olds act like immature [censored] and 20yr olds act like sensible folk.

I'm terrible about my finances right now so I don't really know where I stand. Round trip ticket was $1200. I'm spending between $15 and $30 a night for hotels, usually on the higher side though.
Probably averaging ten or fifteen a day for food and non booze beverages. A hard night out runs me like thirty or forty bucks, most nights I spend about ten on three or four big beer changs.

I've been here since the sixth and my return ticket is on the fourth of next month, seriously considering pushing that back a bit though.

Yeah, I've met tons of cool people pretty much every day though.

Picture I meant to post last time. Nua dad diao (sun dried beef with chill sauce. The waitress brought this out and I thought I'd really [censored] up. It was super good though, like some kind of magical combination of everything that is good about beef and bacon rolled into one. Super crispy, just a little chewy, sooo good.

My day today, I kinda felt like poo and planned to check in to my (surprisingly nice) fifteen dollar hotel in patong and watch tv all day. The tv got [censored] reception, but it had a mfing dvd player. So I asked some dude where I could get dvds and he points down a long ass road filled with massage pests. I walk down to a market, pretty standard tshirts and little elephants and [censored]. Then some dude walks up to me and says dvd's? All hush hush like he's a crack dealer, he takes me to the back of some clothing stall, pulls a a curtain aside, unlocks a door and it was this tiny little room filled with knockoff dvds. I was pretty stoked. My haul, also inluded in the picture is a bottle of the best whisky money can buy. Oceans Thirteen was some stupid cam thing though. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] 250 big ones for the lot of them.
