At the Bellagio it should be a pretty good experience.

I used to love Benihana when I was a kid. The part where they used soy sauce, and called it "Japanese ketchup", used to really kill me.

Haven't been for years, but I have some fond memories.

Personally, I think Benihana sucks. There are much better Teppanyaki style restaurant's where you're at I am sure. There are a couple of places that I think are really tasty where I am at, Kobe Sushi and Steakhouse is my favorite--they are all over but I am not sure if they are around you. That place is really good.

Done this a couple times. It's cool to see/experience once, but I'm not big on dinner theater. Nothing about the onion volcano makes my food taste better.

El D,
YES finally something i know more than you! I am a big fan of Teppanyaki and have been constantly eating at least once every two months. I've been to Benihana couple of times and I personally think Benihana is way overpriced for the quality of food they offer you. Yea, it's nice but not worth it. There are many more that are family-owned around here in So Cal that offer cheaper but just about the same quality. I'll take you to one owned by a couple friends of mine. I don't know if I am biased but they're the best showmen I've seen. Sake bomb + Santoro Beer are musts when you're eating teppan.

i love the food except

-the portions are too small,
-sitting with random people i dont want to sit with sucks but i have to sit by the grill or else its pointless to go.

i guess you could just go with a group of 8 or so of your friends.

I have always found the food to be rather bland.

These places are all show. Spend your money at a place with good food instead.

If you are going to go....dont go to Benihana....I went to one a year or two back, and will never go again.

Try a non franchise type....you will enjoy much more

All,

bad beetz will be hanging w/ me in Vegas and he is very anti-teppanyaki.

How can I convince him?

He is generally a pretty fun guy.

Offer him a geisha girl? Tell him the place will have many gorgeous asian chicks in robes and sandals walking around.
