I'd tell you to be a fan of the Wizards, but only if they change their name back to the Bullets. Such bull [censored] that they changed it in the first place... Lez Boulez ftw

Default Whip out the Salami & Cheese MAMA, this decision is OVER!

This is such an easy choice. You're in Italy man! Go Toronto Raptors.
They are young.
They have likeable players.
They have a lot of Euroballers.
They have the best point guards in the East outside Billups & Kidd in Ford & Jose.
They do a great Jose, Jose Jose Jose chant a la Ole, Ole Ole Ole.
They have an Italian dude as their #1 pick in Bargnani aka Il Mago, who's the next Dirk.
They have one of, if not the best GM's in Colangelo.
They're East Coast, so if you're up late at night, you can actually watch their home games live.
They play the most exciting brand of basketball in the East (not a subjective statement).
They have Chris Bosh.
They have solid announcers.
They have a hardcore fan base.

Uno Dos Tres Catorce, GO GO GO.

edit: Especially if you're not a hardcore NBA fan, other than Phoenix, this team has the best chance of winning you over.

edit2: I guess you picked your team. Didn't read thread at first. You won't be bandwagon jumping the Raptors, since they're not into the public mainstream yet (no Raptors game on national TV). Just don't pick the Hawks. Pick a team with at least a decent GM. Otherwise you'll be following a lot of 25-win to 45-win & back to 25-win teams.

Which team has the best cheerleaders, the coolest uniforms, the baddest, meanest, get-in-trouble-with-the-law players, the coach who tends to fly off the handle at any opportunity?

Portland TrailGangsters. Plus we just got the #1 pick. Holla.

Edit: Just read the thread, awesome.

So after a bit of checking it seems that they have got an Australian player, Luke Schenscher! OK he's only signed for one year but that's good enough for me.

However, I am a bit disconcerted about being accused of being a bandwagon jumper. That hurts. The good thing is that I asked some of my Italian friends what they thought about Portland and they looked at me as if I was mad.

SC, this means that you'll have to bring me some sort of Portland merchandise over when you and the good lady come to visit.

Isn't Manu on the Spurs from Italy? That wouldn't be a bad team to r00t for.

If not them you should be a fan of the 2007-2008 NBA champs Memphis Grizzlies.

MEbenhoe,

I was impressed with your photo collection that you posted. However three things,

1. Bogut is a fan of the Bombers, an Aussie football team. I hate the bombers, therefore I have some problems here. He is also injured and seems to be known for making obscene gestures to Canadians. Sounds like a loose wire if you ask me.

2. With all those pics you posted you didn't put any cheerleader pics up.

3. Purple and white uniforms? What were they thinking? I can't walk around wearing something that's purple and white.

Feel free to talk me round.
