[ QUOTE ] The fact that they are probably the best team in the division. [/ QUOTE ] Not if they keep pulling Rich Hill out of the game after giving up 0 runs on 66 [censored] pitches. Idiots. [/ QUOTE ] Pitching wasn't the problem, scoring was, so actually that move makes sense. |

Leveled? :/ [/ QUOTE ] No. The Cubs have really struggled in close games to score. They have lost nearly every close game including a bunch of games in extra innings. Their best chance to win was to try to break it open with a few runs. |

Looks like they need to move Wuertz to the main setup role and they need to find a lefty other than Ohman that can get someone out. As for yesterday, the bullpen gave up 1 run between the 7th and the 10th. The offense has to do their part. |

Look at the Cubs history of hitting vs. the bullpen in close games. Basically, they don't hit at all. Pinella figures he has hit chance to score in the 7th which may be his only shot. If Marquis or Z is pitching, he would have let them hit b/c they at least have a chance. Hill can't hit at all. I think either case can be made, but I PH as well. |

You realize that Rich Hill is the best pitcher on the Cubs and had only thrown 11 pitches per inning, and replacing him with inferior pitchers only makes it MORE likely that the Cubs lose? You are asserting that the value of pinch-hitting for Hill exceeds the possibility of Hill going another 2 strong innings, when the Cubs have a ton of high-probability home run hitters. That is patently absurd. |
