Your best bet honestly is to just borrow it from someone who trusts you. This assumes of course that you will have no problem at all paying it back in a timely fashion.

Funny thing is, I would have the money if the trip were 4-5 weeks later.

To be perfectly honest, I just have always avoided borrowing from friends. But, I'm really up against it here...you really don't think it would put them in a 'weird' spot, loaning out money to a friend?
