[ QUOTE ]
Let's see, he appeared in three Hitchcock films, a number of Anthony Mann westerns, great screwball comedies, a couple little Frank Capra films, and even saw a pooka in Harvey. Oh yes, and he shot Liberty Valance, or so the legend goes. How's that for range, Katy. [/ QUOTE ] Now that is range, John Cole. I believe I am impressed. I need to see Harvey. |

I'm sure you're going to say that Johnny Depp is a character actor, but how about Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio? Which category would those guys fall into? They're both pretty talented actors. [/ QUOTE ] DiCaprio >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;> Cruise I could see DiCaprio taking on a character role where he downplays his looks. He even went pretty far in "The Aviator", especially toward the end where he goes completely nuts. I can't see Cruise pulling off that role any better. Not to mention the fact that Cruise has jumped the shark (and the couch), praise Xenu. |

Harvey is terrific, Katy. Watch for the moment in the film when the camera pans to show a copy of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility--one of my favorite moments ever.
I think Pryor also loves this one. |

Al Pacino had FIVE in a row:
The Godfather (1972) Scarecrow (1973) Serpico (1973) The Godfather: Part II (1974) Dog Day Afternoon (1975) He then almost had six in a row: Glengarry Glen Ross (1992) Scent of a Woman (1992) Carlito's Way (1993) Heat (1995) Donnie Brasco (1997) The Devil's Advocate (1997) Two Bits and City Hall interrupt that stretch. City Hall was a decent movie, though. I never saw Two Bits. |

honestly, i don't know how anyone with even a trace of humanity couldn't love it. [/ QUOTE ] Me either, but I'm sure that many around your age haven't seen it. I love when Elwood is told that his sister has been trying to have him commited to the institution and he responds, "My, that Vera is certainly industrious." Pryor, my regards to you and anyone else you happen to run into. |
