Tourney Trip Report
Disapointing turnout. 9 Players at 2 tables to start.
Nobody from work attended so my flyer was a bust, in turn to the lack of quality responses to this thread:-D.
4 of my wife's friends 3 of mine.

10$=1000 buyin 25/25 starting blinds. 2 optional 10$ rebuys/add on at the end of level 3. 24 minute levels.

I played solid and tight, making decent steals at the early levels. Got a k/10 of hearts and flopped a flush. Bet 200. Got called. A of clubs comes on the turn. Went all in and was called by the A3 of hearts. Rebuy.

Decided on taking the add on and played a few hands here and there.

Doubled up on a few non remarkable hands the decided to play a j/10 o on the bb when the blinds were 150/300. Got 1 caller. flop came 232. I went all in to steal and was called by AA.

Tourney ran 4 hours as planned. Followed the Howard Lederer DVD tourney suggestions and used the DD tournament poker poker clock. Tourney ran smooth and got alot of play for the buyin.

Party cost about 350 to include the wife and my buyin. I was pleased with my play and can't wait for the WSOP. Thanks 2+2 for the good laughs this past week and for the un-expected fame I gained by posting here.

I'll bump this thread up at the end of June when I got some real hardware to show.

My experience is that people who don't play poker a lot are more likely to be intimidated away from, rather than motivated to come towards, a player who puts this kind of thing up.

But, I don't know your work crowd.

Props for posting- not sure why you decided a steal push was required for the JT, but your reads.

We look forward to the next poster and resulting game report. :P

Axeman,

Cool stuff. Does that guy have to put the bracelet on the line for the next tournament? (I'm sorry I'm looking at the bracelet as a WWF *WWE heavy weight belt, but seems like that'd be cool to me)
