Few questions ?
Can I just go to the range to shoot with no permit or anything?
Do I bring my own ammo?
Do I bring my own gun?
if not can I choose my gun?

Just kind of curious and want the experience but I have zero knowledge besides shooting a bb gun.

Most places offer gun classes which run usually in the $100-$200 range...this class isn't usually about how to conceal but usually is a precursor to applying to that permit if you want.

i don't have and do not want a concealed weapons permit, just how to be knowledgable.

ALSO, gun classes will more than likely make you use THEIR guns to learn.

Not sure how much it varies state to state but in Va you could walk right in rent a gun and start firing. I would recommend you go with a friend who is knowledgeable or take a class 1st though. Bringing your own ammo varies from range to range some make you buy theirs but if they don't I would def bring your own to save some money.

The most fun gun I've fired is a 44 Redhawk magnum. KABOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!! It was louder than the shottie next to us.

[/ QUOTE ]
My dad uses a Super Redhawk to hunt deer, it is a blast to shoot but the noise and recoil get old pretty quick.
