Here is a recap:

#1 priority is for a fun home game. No bad sports. I am planning on low stakes, such as $0.25/$0.50 or Stars nickel ante stud structures with $0.50 bring ins.

BYOB, but I make beer so I have lots in the basement.

We have 8 confirmed so far, plus some friends. I am going to see if I can get another table, unless playing on the dinner table is fine.

The fight won't happen at my house as I don't have cable, just a cable modem.

Thanks for the interest. I have sent out some more PM's with details. I will ask for more definite confirmations closer to May 5.

I live in a big city. The person im staying w/ (building his house) doesnt have internet access or a tv. Not that this bothers me, I love to read and play guitar, so I figure ill be fine. I only have one friend that lives out there, and he's in colorado springs, whioh is quite a drive I guess. I woudlnt say that I'm nervous, I just realize that its a big change.

Durango to the springs is 4-5 hours, depending on how you drive. I have a friend that made it in 3, but that could be pricey if the highway patrol is out there.

There are a couple indian casinos out by you somewhere. check online. I think they are up around fruita and grand junction, which shouldnt be too terribly far. They might actually be across the border in Utah. not sure. Also not sure if they have poker, but it should be worth researching at least.

There is a Ute casino about 20 miles away.

Mancos is about 25 miles west of Durango. It is in the middle of nowhere.

I know the standard NL buy-in is typically 100BB, but would you guys be opposed to a 50 BB ($25) buy-in for the game? I typically don't lose more than 2 or 3 buy-ins per night, but I wasn't planning on bringing more than $100 (and having just 2 buy-ins at a fun / drunken game seems like a bad idea)

I'd like to get in on this, especially if you do it on the 5th (the fight!!!).

I play around Boulder/Denver a bit.

Also, there's a home game I play at on Saturday nights in Boulder, where one table is a dealers choice. Pineapple and HORSE games only. Antes are .25, with holdem and Omaha blinds at .50 and $1. There's also a NLHE table going too. Great game, PM me if interested.

I don't really care if you buy in for 50BB, though from a strategy standpoint, I would buy in for the 100BB and win. The point of this game is not to lose. The point of this game is really to open up some more of the home games in the Denver area. We can be a network and a catalyst for more games in the area.

I guess I phrased it poorly... I typically like to play games where I'm comfortable (from a monetary standpoint) of losing 2 to 3 buy-ins; even on my worst nights, 3 buy-ins tends to last a decent amount of time. I'd rather not be in the position to drop more than $75 or $80, so having a $25 buy-in would be better from my POV. I'm not gonna start out as the short stack, so if you guys are guying in for $50 I'll suck it up and deal.

I didn't realize this was potentially going to turn into a regular game; I thought it was going to be an occasional "let's drink and horse around" type game, so I figured starting with shorter stacks might have been an option.

Would anyone be interested in giving me like $100 if i shipped them stars money?

Are you talking about, like, someone showing up at the game and giving you $100 at that time? If so, I could probably be willing to do that.

That's kinda the way I'm seeing it, too...as sort of on occasional thing...like once a quarter, or something, as a way for 2+2ers to get to hang a bit. Not that I have objections to a weekly home game , but I'm sure we all have access to home games that are already regularly scheduled and probably more convenient (since I note some of us will actually drive quite a ways for this).

Anyway, my own plan was to prepare for a couple $50-60 buy-ins, but I can be as flexible as need be.

Thats what I was thinking, if Grasshopp3r wouldn't mind letting me use his computer to ship you the money.
