Your premises are horrible. Everyone on these forums knows that:
-poker is not a sport
-poker had a boom because of moneymaker, the internet, and tv poker
-poker is in a bust cycle because republicans have cut off the deposit methods for fish

I didn't read the entire thread, but I'm sure someone mentioned Barry Greenstein. I would def. consider him a heroic figure, for his charity work.

Ah this is all BS. Unless they are marketing whores who put there face on every product they can, people who don't follow a sport aren't familiar with that sports "heroes" either.

WPT year 1 Layne Flack is dealt pocket aces. Sees a kid choking and lays down his pocket aces to go save the kid.

Flack does not even play anymore.

I was going to say that it's been 4 years since the start of the poker boom, but that's just me.
