Re: Just tell me I should have raised this flop...
[ QUOTE ]
I don't like waiting until the turn because most hands that give you turn action are the same hands that will give you flop and turn action. No matter what you do it's unlikely you'll get a ton of bets out of QQ or JJ, but if he has AK (12 combos) or AA (6), you'll get a lot more bets out of him by raising the flop in general than you will by raising the turn. Rob [/ QUOTE ] If I'm villain and I'm AK on the flop and I bet and get raised I'm 3-betting.. if I'm capped, do I lead turn (assuming blank turn, not the one we got)? If I'm villain and I'm AA on the flop and I bet and get raised I'm 3-betting.. if I'm capped do I lead turn (assuming blank turn, not the one we got)? Hmm.. I'd probably be tempted to c/r in the AA case... probably just lead in the AK case. Either way it gives our hero room to get more bets. I'm a pushover. |

Why won't he bet/3-bet the flop with AA or AK allowing you to either cap immediately or wait and pop the turn? If you just call and raise the turn do you expect him to 3-bet you on the turn with one pair? [/ QUOTE ] That's exactly what I already wrote. So I completely agree. |

Re: Just tell me I should have raised this flop...
[ QUOTE ]
Uh, nOOb? If you want an answer about the flop, cut off the action at the flop [/ QUOTE ] My title of the post is a bit mis-leading, I was kinda looking for comments on all streets. Also, it was 3/6 full-ring at ftp if that helps. My thoughts went like this: I wanted to wait til the turn to raise. I wanted to get more bets from QQ/JJ that might c/c the turn if I raised the flop. When the turn came I was scared. On the turn, I discounted the hands that I was infront of. QQ and JJ because I didn't know if he would bet the flop then the turn with Ace and King overcards to his pair considering I had 3-bet preflop. I discounted AK because of his tight stats, also being out of position I thought maybe he wouldn't be as likely to cap these hands. After some thought, I really think that raising the flop is much better. If he has AA or AK he will likely 3-bet giving me the chance to cap and then I have the extra big bet anyway. If he has QQ and JJ then he might just call down anyway. Also if he has QQ or JJ and I call the flop, then he might not bet into me again on the turn anyway. Thanks for the discussion. |
