Re: Genius (1M) vs Dirksen (100k) flipping
Well the way you are looking at it, it's really -EV because of the $3 rake. However he's sitting at a million, and if he flips people with 15-50k for a significant amount of time variance will eventually cause the situation to be +ev for the person with the largest stack due to the risk of the strong possibility that the small stack will eventually bust out.

Re: Genius (1M) vs Dirksen (100k) flipping
Ok. Honestly someone explain this to me. Is it really +ev, or is it only the illusion of being +ev.
You've got $1,000,000,00.00. Someones got $1k, and offers to roll a 1,000 sided di. If the numbers land on 1-999 you win 1k. If the number lands on 1,000 he win's your million. The same thing here. The million is gonna bust the short stacks WAY more often, but there's always a chance that shortstack could come back and bust that million however small... but the reward will be that much greater. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree. The shortstack, starting with 1,000, would build his stack to over 500k after 9 flips. So basically the shortstack needs to win 10 in a row to turn 1,000 into 1 million. Not sure if i would risk 1 million dollars to win 1,000 even if the odds were that slim. |
