Well you had to be at Bellagio when I was. I played $15-30 Friday night from about 8:30 pm-1am. Then I played Saturday night from 11:00pm until 3:00am. The games were super juicy and soft as hell. I dominated and finished Friday +1013 and Saturday +693. The players were pretty horrible including several who were waiting for $30-60 seats. Hope any 2+2ers in the $30-60 game had fun cause there was some seriously easy money comming your way, especially the guys that were already stuck $500-1K. I dunno if any of you saw the guy with the "castle" of chips, but that was me. I also saw Nelly, Iverson, Eddie Jones, and Morrison as well as former NBA'ers Kevin Willis and Jack Haley(along with two hella fine women....must be nice).

Dang, I got there at 11 pm. Were these guys in the high limit section? I was hoping to play 15/30 or 30/60 if I saw anyone I recognized in the game, but I didn't. Kevin Willis is pretty easy to pick out of a crowd, but I didn't see him there.

Nelly - I'm guessing that's not Don Nelson the coach?

Nelly

Iverson wasn't playing, but was there to visit Nelly. Jack Haley came in late and was with the girls for a short time at one of the lower limit NL games. Morrisson and Jones were Saturday night. Willis was in the Bellagio lobby.

I see. So you were winning from unfamous people.

Someone at my 2/5 table said Morrison was playing Thursday as well, badly, but catching suckouts.

Vegas was a nightmare this weekend.

PERIOD

[/ QUOTE ]
Well not for me. I mostly went from home to parking garage to poker room and back, though I did venture out on Friday afternoon and evening when moving from Bellagio to Bally's and back. 'Twas just a pleasantly juicy, soft weekend of poker, but the poker room demographic where I was hanging out didn't seem to be very NBA-slanted.

But we don't have to worry about another all-star game for a good long while. They were seriously unimpressed with the Thomas & Mack Center and say they will never return to Vegas to play in that venue. So until Oscar can wrangle a new arena, it's not going to be repeated.

I can only take your word for it those that were in Vegas this past weekend. However I'm imagining the 30-40 something white guy is a major player here among our posters.

I'm not some hardcore gangsta rapper and I certainly don't claim to be. I am a hip hop fan and that coupled with my time as a basketball player and a little time I had to do in jail (unfortunately) I think I'm qualified to speak on whether someone is a gang member or not.

It really seems like you guys just see a black guy in baggy jeans with jewelry and assume BINGO there's a thug! Think about it this way. I'm a black athlete making several million dollars to play a kid's game (not to mention there is no way in hell I can make this kind of money doing anything else) now why would I want to mess that up by doing something stupid in Las Vegas on All Star weekend or have one of my boys do something like that?

Anyone ever heard of Ray Lewis? No NBA player wants that, they don't want the negative publicity and the lost revenue in endorsements. If Allen Iverson rolls with a posse they have guidelines to follow, they ain't there to act up, they're probably there to have Allen's back in case an armed robbery goes down like the way Paul Pierce got done 3 years ago at a Boston nightclub.

I can guarantee you if I was walking down the strip I would of given a knowing nod to these dudes and everything woulda been cool. If not than something would be SERIOUSLY wrong and I'd go point that person out to the nearest police officer.

My suspicision is most of the posters in this thread are "uncomfortable" around black youth anyways and are prone to jump to conclusions about their mindset or criminal activity, which not only fits to a T the very definition of profiling, but also is very insulting not to mention racist.

Default The Wynn Incident

I was told what happened at the Wynn by someone who was there.

Basically, Sunday Night, party going on in Tryst, and the rapper (forgot his name) doing the gig started throwing money into the crowd for all the drunk hos and bitches to flock over, and things got a bit wild.

Wynn Security (or whoever) decided to avoid having problems spill out into the casino and locked everyone out of the casino - they forced everyone to exit straight outside into the valet area (when the club closed for the night). And that's when the [censored] and bullets went down.

Gotta give Wynn at least some blame for not being able to keep [censored] under control.

NOTICE TO B&M FORUM READERS:

This post is right on the edge of being acceptable, thats why I am using it to make an example. We have deleted numerous posts in the NBA weekend threads this past week because they were what I call "soap box" posts. B&M is not the place to be discussing social issues such as race relations unless it is a unique situation that applies to a game in a casino. Its not the place to share your opinions on social issues, keep it to yourself or start a new thread in one of the forums where it might (the magic word is might - be careful not to step over the line) be acceptable such as Politics, OOT, or BBV/4L.

I hope you all understand our position on this, we have always operated with this frame of mind however we haven't seen so many abuses of this rule until the NBA All Start weekend threads started. Thank you in advance. We are trying to keep this thread alive and unlocked, help us by avoiding posting inflammatory remarks.

According to the news report nobody was hurt and no shots were fired at this event, but police were called for crowd control. Sounds like the Wynn did what I would have doe when I was in the nightclub business - when there is a danger to your customers you diffuse the danger and corral the customers into the streets where police watch is available.

I have no idea why you would want to mess that up. That said, professional athletes do stupid [censored] all of the time, so your argument is pointless. Sure, it's dumb to mess up a good thing, but SOME PEOPLE [CENSORED] IT UP ANYWAY.

There is some bizarre mind set amoungst some posters here.

Factually speaking I observed:

1.) Bottles being tossed towards cars on both nights.

2.) People with actual tattoos of the gangs they belong to. I posted the names of those gangs. Yes, I am quite familiar with what the tattoos might look like. Besides, its hard to ignore someone with 6 inch letters/numbers on the back of their neck.

3.) A news story where a LV metro spokesman stated that several arrests were made of gang members from California.

4.) News accounts of multiple shootings and fights on the strip.

So whatever.
