I feel so lame explaining, well, any joke, but here we go:

It's a telepod from The Fly. There is a rather memorable scene in that movie in which Jeff Goldblum - who is partially transformed into a fly at this point - vomits onto some donuts to facilitate his digestive processes before slurping them up in disgusting fashion and come on I just guessed wrong about how many people have seen this movie so let's just forget about it.
